1 Down 99 To Go

I am extremely confident in my goals for 2020 except my book goal. As a proud bookworm this is highly embarrassing, I mean I should live and breathe books right? I’m actively planning my book themed tattoo and saving for it as one of my goals this year is to be able to get that tattoo, probably at the end of the year as a birthday present to myself. Yet I am so nervous about actually finishing a 100 books, that's 8 a month....I've read 1 complete book while driving to and from work and while cleaning the house.

“Get a life, Chloe Brown” was the perfect 1st book of the year. To be completely transparent I think I started it before the year started, but it really helped get me in the spirit of goal setting. Making lists, which to be even more honest I’ve always loved. There is nothing as satisfying as ticking something off a list. But watching Chloe make her lists and have so much determination, taking charge of her life in spite of the incredible obstacles she had was so inspiring. I am totally blaming Talia Hibbert and her writing for how massive and far reaching my goals for this year are. Blame her and thank her because I am so pumped for this year.

I found this book mainly inspiring. But it was such a cute story. Definitely steamy in some parts and all over sweet and made my heart happy. The perfect combination in my opinion.

I feel like Chloe having a mostly invisible illness was a really important story line to tell. I feel like we don’t have a lot of options on heroines who are disabled. Especially in a more silent illness type. As someone who’s had my share of “invisible” struggles it really resonated with me. The way she builds walls between herself and other people, seeing her pushing through that, I feel like it’s so important to have novels like this. Where the protagonist isn’t this skinny perfect princess, but also isn’t a complete hot mess. An average girl, dealing with problems that a lot of people have similar experiences to and similar feelings and can really relate to.

All in all I would rate “Get a Life, Chloe brown” a 10. Any book that can make me super passionate about something and want to do more of it is a life changer in my list. Now if you’ll excuse me I have more lists to write and I feel the urge to paint again.
